The Exec
The Exec is the no-nonsense figure trying to bring some semblance of order to the chaos that is Neutronics Corp. Armed with a tablet full of reports and a mind filled with corporate jargon, she’s all about efficiency, deadlines, and meeting those impossible quarterly goals, whether or not the reactor is actively melting down in the background.
The Top Hand
The Top Hand is the real backbone of the workforce. He is steady, competent, and respected by everyone on the floor. He’s the go-to guy when things go wrong (which is often), and while he’s technically under The Gaffer, it’s clear who’s really holding things together. Unlike many in his position, he’s content right where he is, valuing his role more than any title or promotion. He doesn’t crave power; he finds purpose in being the one everyone can rely on, keeping things running smoothly amidst the constant chaos.
The Pusher
The Pusher landed his spot thanks to his connections, not his skills. He’s the son of a bigwig upstairs, so despite being clueless, he’s in a position of authority. Constantly giving misguided orders, he’s more of a liability, saved time and again by The Top Hand and others. People follow his lead out of obligation, knowing who his father is, but everyone sees through his bluster, he’s just a boss in title, not in talent.
The Gaffer
The Gaffer is the archetypal old-school boss, set in his ways and firmly entrenched in his role as second-in-command under The Exec. With a long history at the company, he wields his authority more from habit than genuine leadership. Known for his harsh demeanor and penchant for creating conflict, especially with The Top Hand, who remains unfazed, the Gaffer commands respect through fear rather than admiration. He's a relic of outdated methods, resistant to change, and resents anyone who questions his established norms.
The Nuclear Nomad
The Nuclear Nomad is a seasoned specialist who drifts from reactor to reactor, brought in to clean up disasters or refurbish cores when things go south. She’s distant, not out of coldness, but because she’s always on the move and never sure how long she’ll stay. Her life is full of unpredictability and isolation, making her a lone wolf in a world that constantly shifts beneath her. Though not part of the main crew, she’s vital when things get critical, quietly carrying the weight of never truly belonging anywhere.
